Our Training Philosophy
Teach
your dog about our human environment and they will be great pets. Do it
as early as eight weeks of age if possible. Don't delay, the clock is
ticking as puppies learn faster while young.
Our Facility Constructed
just this year, our 2600 square foot Center was custom built
for training rooms and day care play. Rain or shine, we cater to
comfort with heat and air conditioning, good lighting, and
state-of-the-art rubber flooring that is dog friendly and reduces the
risk of your dog slipping. We even have an outdoor potty area
that is completely fenced in and is sanitized daily with a unique
system that does not use chemicals. Popular and effective retail items
are available for sale in our lobby. Stop in and see us. One of
our staff members is
always on site to be of assistance and answer questions.
Who We Are
Cool Dog Training, Inc. was founded in 2001. We pride ourselves on being professional trainers and are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers where an on-going education is essential to success.
Lynne
Dog
trainer and behaviorist, Lynne Sorrentino is the President of Cool Dog
Training, Inc. A dog lover from the start, she pointed at dogs while in
a stroller screeching, "Doggie! Doggie!" Her role as an educator grew as
people became more interested in understanding their own pets. Cool Dog
Training was founded in 2001 and focuses on working with families and
their dogs bringing them together for better lives. As with many good
dog trainers, they learn from other good dog trainers... and Lynne has
studied under some of the best: notably Patricia McConnell, Ph.D, Dr.
Ian Dunbar, Trish King, and Donna Duford. As an active member of
Association of Pet Dog Trainers, her education is a continuing
commitment. She lives in Temecula, California, with her Vizsla, Deogi
and her Doberman Pincher, Stella.
Lois
Puppyhood
is the cornerstone to adulthood and no one appreciates the valiant
efforts puppies make to become "cool dogs" more than Lois. She has
always said obedience and positive training are what make "just a
backyard dog" an active member of one's family. Her commitment is to
assist families in making a well-socialized and well-mannered pet.
Through continued education and experience and associations such as
APDT, Lois feels she can effectively help families & dogs
live in our world harmoniously. As a Puppy Trainer for Cool Dog
Training, Inc., for five years, she sees more and more families
including their dogs in their day-to-day lives, and knows her time is
necessary and fulfilling. Rachel
Rachel has raised three puppies for Canine Support Teams,
an organization which trains service dogs for people with disabilities.
She raised each puppy until it was one and a half years old, taking
them out in public and teaching them basic obedience. She received an
award in high school for doing the most community service hours
(2500+). All three dogs are now assisting their disabled owners. In her
spare time, Rachel has a pet-sitting and dog-walking business, Rachel's
Pet Services. She takes care of pets at their own homes as well as
welcoming them into her home while their owners are away. She is a
member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and is studying to
become a puppy trainer. Rachel has two "babies:" Molly, a six year-old
Chocolate Lab and Sadie, her one year-old Golden Retriever.
C ami Cami helps out in our daycare and has always enjoyed being
around dogs. Over the years she has done pet sitting for others while they are
away; as well as assisting her neighbor, who is a dog groomer, by bathing the
dogs for her. Cami has also had many years of experience with horses. She rode
and competed in shows for tens years. She has two dogs of her own: Sophie, a
four year-old Great Dane and Spike, her six year-old Miniature Doberman
Pincher.
Paige Since Paige was a little girl the first question she’d ask
anyone she met was, “Do you have a dog?”
Her love for dogs is in her DNA!
At the age of eight she pleaded with her parents to get a dog, saying it
was a “need” not a “want.” Paige has fostered dogs and puppies for the local shelter
and cared for many neighborhood pets overnight.
She keeps a watchful eye out for lost dogs and has been a rescue to
many. She has become the go-to person in her neighborhood when a dog is lost. Paige has her own dog, a Bichon Frize, named Toby. She has trained him in obedience and agility. Paige is a true dog lover and enjoys the
opportunity to volunteer at Cool Dog Training.
